This ring is absolutely beautiful. The sapphire cabochon is a beautiful deep blue that is mesmerizing enough on its own, but is exquisite when paired with the incredible detail that surrounds it. The laurel engraving on the gallery is exquisite and the incredible detail continues down the shoulders and to the knife edged lower shank. Everywhere you look you see incredible craftsmanship and detail including a closed back. It's a very special piece. It is stamped MMA, for the the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is likely a replica of a piece they had in their collection.
